A Simple Spring Refresh with Bedroom Home Essentials

The spring season is upon us, and with it we tend to crave change! However, updating your home can be as simple as swapping out a few home essentials. See how I refreshed our master bedroom for spring with these decor essentials.

Spring Refresh in the Master Bedroom

I love seasonal decorating. It is so fun to create a festive home for the seasons and holidays. However, rather than buying all new decor each season, I focus in on updating home essentials that will make a statement.

Home Essentials for the Bedroom

For my master bedroom, I focused in on three home essentials that I either:

Needed to serve a purpose.
Wanted for practicality or storage.
Have been wanting as a pretty decor staple.

Spring/Summer Bedding

The number one home essential for a bedroom is the bedding you choose. Not only is it the most visible decor statement maker, but it’s also the most practical piece for daily use.

This season, my new bedding falls into the “pretty decor staple” category! I’ve been wanting this style of bedding for some time and finally went for it.

I always like to choose spring bedding that I can transfer into the summer as well. This beautiful damask cotton coverlet fits both seasons!

It is a lightweight coverlet with this beautiful raised damask and swirl design. I chose this coverlet to be used in addition to my comforter for chilly spring nights.

Then, this summer I’ll be able to use it solo with my favorite sateen sheets once Michigan decides to warm up!

Practical Baskets

The next area I focused on was adding a few home essentials for practical storage.

When we nixed dressers from the bedroom and chose to solely use closets for storage, it left a slight lack of storage in our bedroom. So, I’ve turned to smaller storage pieces and always love how baskets warm up a space.

This set of 2 woven baskets works great for simple blanket storage. They come in two sizes and are so affordable. I plan to use them throughout the year for blankets, pillows, and scarf storage.

Baskets are always my go-to home essential for warming up a space while serving a practical purpose. This set will most likely end up being used in multiple places in our home as the seasons change!

Necessary Furniture Home Essentials

Finally, I finished my spring bedroom refresh with something that I’ve needed for two years! I’ve been on the hunt for a small nightstand that would fit in a 15-inch space.

They are surprisingly hard to come by! I wanted to have a drawer rather than a shelf for hidden storage and less dusting. I was so excited to find this end table that fit all my needs.

It has a more modern look with clean lines and natural wood tones. And it fits in my space perfectly!
