Fall Dining Room Decor | 2 Ways
Fall is such a lovely time of year. I get so much inspiration from nature and enjoy decorating with it for affordable decor. That’s why I’m sharing two ways to decorate with natural dining room decor for fall!
Fall Dining Room Decor
This year I was determined to keep my fall decor budget teeny tiny and use things from around my home in new ways. I was able to accomplish this by sprinkling in natural fall elements and using different textures to warm up the space.

So if you’re looking for new ideas for beautiful dining room decor without all the fuss, then keep reading! I’ve styled up my dining room decor two different ways to give you some ideas for using your own existing decor with fresh eyes for fall.
Fall Inspiration Tour
I’m excited to be joining six other bloggers in this fall tour so be sure to head to their blogs (below) for more fall decor inspiration next! If you’re joining me from Lindsay at Aratari at Home, thanks for stopping by!
Dining Room Decor – Style 1: Pumpkin-less
Personally, I love pumpkins in my fall decor! However, I know that pumpkins don’t float everyone’s boat. Plus, they can be hard to find or can be very expensive to buy, depending on where you live. For that reason, my first styled dining room decor option is pumpkin-less!
If you’ve followed along with me for any length of time, then you know that I love vintage items. I shared more about my love of vintage and why it speaks to me in my living room reveal {here}. Since I have lots of cozy textures and fall colors already sprinkled throughout my home I simply “shopped my home” to create this dining room buffet.
Adding in dried hydrangeas from my garden fall-i-fies (totally a design term…) this space for free! I love how the deep greens from my vintage bottles and shutters add that moody hue I was looking for to cozy up this space.
For the table, I simply used a fall blanket and created the simplest centerpiece from fresh pears from our orchard. This is not only pretty, but extremely practical. Bonus points if your kiddos start eating fresh fruit more often because it is front and center! A bowl of apples would also be a lovely option.
Next week I will have the most delicious pear pie recipe on the blog for you, so stay tuned!
I also added in a simple basket filled with cozy accents from my living room. Dining room decor should be cozy too! Baskets are also a great way to warm up a space and give extra texture for added interest.
Dining Room Decor – Style 2: Bring on the Pumpkins
Since I do love pumpkins, I couldn’t resist styling up this arrangement as a second option. I will have a more elaborate pumpkin display on the blog for you in the next couple of weeks as well! However, for this tour I wanted to keep it simple.
After my trip to the pumpkin patch (one of my favorite places to visit!) I washed and dried all of my goodies.
Then, let the piling begin! As you saw in my styling tips for a fall front porch, piling pumpkins is literally the easiest way to create beautiful arrangements without a lot of skill involved. Everyone can stack a pumpkin!
I used the same vintage shutters from style option 1 and repurposed one as the base for my centerpiece. Layering is my favorite trick to making a simple centerpiece feel more elaborate. Next, I stacked my pumpkins so they have height variation and the colors were spaced well. Then I simply sprinkled in some candles for ambiance.
(Ahem…make sure if you burn your candles you have a way to catch the dripping wax. Lesson learned.)
I kept the dining room decor on the buffet simple with a few of my favorite vintage items and more pumpkins. The amber bottles and wood bowls don’t scream “fall” but the warm hues mimic the colors you see in nature.
Fall Dining Room Decor 2 Ways
What do you think? Do you style your dining room decor with pumpkins or do you go pumpkin-less for fall? I have to say that I was happy with the pumpkin-less display for late summer and into early fall; but, once those pumpkins hit the stands I couldn’t resist!
