Girl’s Bedroom Decor | A Simple and Sweet Makeover
Is there anything better than a sweet four year old rushing to hug me because she loves her new bedroom? Well not after working for a few weeks to make it just the way she’d like it! I finally finished my daughter’s bedroom remodel and wanted to share it with you for some girl’s bedroom decor inspiration!
My daughter’s room is very small so it has always been a challenge for me to decorate it. For some reason I struggle with small rooms because of the odd angles and intrusive windows/doors/closet doors/vents….etc that seem to overwhelm the space. So I knew I would need to get creative in my daughter’s bedroom so the space looked polished instead of cluttered. I’m happy to share some of the tips and tricks I used to achieve simple and sweet girl’s bedroom decor!
Girl’s Bedroom Decor | Simple and Sweet
First off, let’s take a quick look at the before. And by quick I mean keep on a-scrollin’. 😉 Her room was a collection of baby decor that I couldn’t part with, handmade projects from her brother (age 6 ha!), hair bows she refuses to wear, and a few new pieces that I loved. Talk about random. I knew I needed to consolidate and make this space cohesive.

Start With One Piece that Inspires
So I started with a little inspiration! If you missed my post on how to make DIY hoop wreaths then click here. These simple hoops inspired the rest of the room because of their simplistic design and sweet florals.
Once I had my inspiration, the rest flowed easily. Here are the main girl’s bedroom decor accents I couldn’t live without!
Create Interest With A Bold Choice: Wallpops Wallpaper
First of all, her bedroom has one long wall that I’ve always hated. I never knew what to put on it that wouldn’t look haphazard and cluttered. Queue Wallpops nuWallpaper! As soon as I saw this beautiful wallpaper on their Instagram I knew exactly how to create interest in her room that would look polished. And best of all? It is peel and stick!
Let me tell ya, I spent the better part of my childhood peeling wallpaper off in microscopic pieces from every house we ever lived in. So there was no way I was going to paste wallpaper in my home. But peel and stick? Yes please! The process was so simple to install this and I linked up a little Instagram story tutorial for you here if you’re interested. Fair warning: I have zero video editing skills so what ya see is what ya get, mmmkay? 😉
Simple and Sweet Bedding: Beddy’s Beds
The second step in choosing simple and sweet girl’s bedroom decor was all about the bedding. As you can see from the before photo, her bedding always looked sloppy. Because 1. She’s 4 and never makes her bed. And 2. Her small mattress and lack of frills makes any comforter look frumpy. Except for Beddy’s Beds bedding!
If you read my post about my son’s bedroom remodel here then you already know that I love Beddy’s Beds. The simple design allows even my four year old to make her bed with ease EVERY DAY! Hallelujah and thank you Beddy’s!
The entire comforter fits like a fitted sheet and then the top cover unzips to allow them to climb into bed and then zips right back up when they are up for the day! The simple act of my daughter making her bed each day transforms her space from cluttered chaos to polished and pretty.

Simplified Accents
The final step I took was to simplify the accents in her decor. I made her curtains from drop cloths using this tutorial. I love the neutral tone for an understated curtain that doesn’t detract from the other decor. Then, I found this wonderful Etsy shop who created a customized wood cut out for her name, Adelyn. And finally, I simplified her decor down to two signs that fit her personality.
The Full of Grace sign was a gift from Grandma last year and is perfectly fitting since Adelyn’s middle name is Grace. And the Do Good sign is my wish for her always.
Shop This Space
Of course I stayed with a neutral palette because I think it is the easiest way to allow her room to grow with her. While the room doesn’t scream “little girl” it does have lots of feminine accents that she’ll enjoy for years to come!
One of these days I’d like to find an area rug to add a little pop of color, but until the perfect rug comes along she’s enjoying her space just the same! And now, this momma is too. 🙂
{Adelyn, full of Grace. Never stop shining Little Love.}
A girl’s bedroom decor makeover is a wonderful opportunity to create a space that reflects her personality and interests. Focusing on simplicity and sweetness allows for a charming transformation without overwhelming the room. Incorporating pastel hues, whimsical wall decals, and cozy textiles can infuse the space with a touch of elegance and comfort.
