Love it? Share it!

Christmas bedroom decor can be as simple or elaborate as you’d like! Personally, I prefer to keep it minimalistic since the rest of my home is decked out for the holidays. However, these tips can be used no matter your style. Here are 3 simple steps to creating a magical holiday oasis in the bedroom.

Christmas Bedroom Decor Ideas

Do you usually decorate your bedroom for Christmas? Honestly, I never did before I became a blogger! I like to focus on the areas we spend the most time in, however, I’ve found that it isn’t hard or time consuming to add a few holiday accents to the bedroom. And since it isn’t hard, then why not enjoy the festivities throughout my home?!

There are three simple steps to bringing Christmas decor into a bedroom. These steps can be used regardless of your style by tweaking it to fit your needs. Here are three steps to add Christmas bedroom decor with ease!

1. Choose one Focal Point For a Christmas Bedroom

Since bedrooms are often already cramped for space, the first step to adding Christmas decor is to choose one main focal point. For me, that happens to be a simple holiday sign that becomes the main artwork in the room. You can also use items like a small Christmas tree, holiday bedding, or decorating an existing bedroom mantel.

Joy to the world sign

My Joy to the World sign is a great addition (use code GRACEINMYSPACE for 15% off their sign shop). I love that it’s simple, festive and out of the way. It can be dressed up with garland, like I’ve done, or kept minimalistic. Artwork is the perfect addition since it doesn’t take up space within your bedroom.

2. Layer Garland or Add Florals

The next simple step is to add natural accents. I chose to use a simple garland to top my artwork. You can also layer garland overtop of windows to be out of the way like I did in our living room this year. Or, add it to a mantel or dresser.

Adding garland to Christmas bedroom decor.

Garland is extremely versatile because you dictate how elaborate it is. If you love minimalistic decor, then only add one piece. Or, you can add a simple floral arrangement. On the other hand, if you like a cozy layered look, then you can group multiple garlands to create an elaborate and lush look like I did on our Christmas mantel.

3. Layer the Cozy Textiles

The final step is to layer cozy textiles! While I don’t use Christmas-specific bedding, you certainly can! The main point is to be comfortable and cozy for the winter season. I shared all about how I use grey bedding for the fall and winter seasons in this article.

Cozy winter textiles

For me, it is less about what the bedding looks like and more about creating a comfortable environment to endure the cold months. Multiple textiles of varying shades of the same color family break up a monotone palette without being overwhelming.

I also love to mix in different textures to my bedding. Faux fur, muslin cotton, chunky knits and soft linens are my favorite textiles to mix because they all add a different look and feeling. This creates variation and interest.

And it’s that simple! Three steps to a decorated Christmas bedroom. I also added in some cozy candles and a simple Christmas tree decor accent. However, what you add or take away is totally up to how much you want to include.

  1. Are you using a box spring with that bed frame? I want the bed frame but I decently want to keep my box spring . If it will look like yours Iโ€™m definitely going for it!
