Modern Farmhouse Basement Flooring
Friends, I’m so excited to reveal the basement flooring today! After weeks of preparing, planning, and remodeling our basement is complete! Today I will be sharing how new basement flooring completely transformed this space from hodge-podge to cohesive and cozy.

Basement Flooring Made to Last
If you’ve been following along on the basement remodel, then you know that our entire project started with plans to get new flooring. That quickly morphed into painting trim, updating a barnwood wall, and building a black shiplap accent wall. (I’ll have the tutorial up for you soon on that!)
Here are some shots of the flooring when it was just laid. My dad and I added the 3/4 round moulding ourselves after I took these photos.
It is amazing how making one change has a domino effect on my brain. 😉 However, I knew that once we found this flooring from Lumber Liquidators, I had to make the rest of the basement look as amazing as our floors would soon be.
If you read my first post of this series, then you know that we were choosing between three different colors and types of vinyl plank. Vinyl plank is the perfect basement flooring for us because it is durable for pets and kids, and it is waterproof! I’m thankful I won’t have to worry about tracking water in through our patio slider or fear potential spills in our family room.
We ended up choosing Riverwalk Oak Luxury Vinyl Plank. It has a weathered oak appearance with beautiful depth and texture. I love how realistic it looks without having to worry about the issues that wood or laminate could potentially have in a basement.
From Hodge-Podge to Cohesive
If you remember, prior to our new basement flooring we had 5 different types of flooring. Two types of carpet, linoleum, and two types of tile. It was like a jigsaw puzzle on our floors. I am so thrilled to see how carrying our luxury vinyl plank from Lumber Liquidators throughout the entire basement has made it cohesive and cozy. Here are a few before and afters!

If you saw my $100 laundry room makeover {HERE} then you know that I was able to completely transform everything in that room for $100! Countertop, sink, faucet, walls, decor….but not the floors. I’m so glad to finally be rid of that blue tile and have a completed space!
Modern Farmhouse Basement | Sneak Peek
Here are a few shots of the completed basement! I’ll be posting the full reveal in my next post of this series. For now, enjoy some snapshots of my new favorite space!
I can’t wait to show you more of this space, including more details on decor and that black shiplap accent wall! I’ll also be sharing tips and tricks for how to keep a family room pretty and practical with an active family!
A huge thank you to Lumber Liquidators for making my basement remodel dreams come true!
