Neutral Fall Decorating Ideas in the Kitchen
While I love vibrant fall colors, I lean towards neutral fall decorating ideas! Subtle pops of color are a welcome addition in certain parts of my decor, but neutral has my heart. I’m excited to share how I styled my fall farmhouse kitchen decor!

Neutral Fall Decorating Ideas in the Kitchen
This year, fall has been slowly creeping in. I’ve been savoring the last few warm days of summer and wanted to reflect that in my fall decor. I am doing very minimal traditional fall decor, and instead focusing on bringing in natural elements and a warm color palette.
Natural Elements
My kitchen typically sees very little seasonal decor. My favorite indoor plants take center stage for the entire year, and then I swap out simple pieces for the seasons.
This year, I chose to focus mainly on one statement piece for fall. I styled my kitchen shelves with a natural grass arrangement that was ironically difficult to put together. I’m not sure I’m made to decorate with grasses. Ha!
Next, I layered in some natural textures with a vintage papier-mâché bowl, decorative wood balls, and vintage artwork.
I love being able to slowly collect found vintage pieces that I love and will transition the seasons. Any of these pieces can be used throughout the year! It just takes pairing them with seasonal pieces to pull out that “fall feeling”.
Warm Color Palette
While the focus on this article is to share neutral fall decorating ideas in my kitchen, I would be remiss to neglect highlighting the warm color palette. So often people assume that “neutral equals white”.
I would argue that neutral equals natural.
The colors you see most in nature make up a beautiful warm, and neutral, color palette. Warm wood tones, deep greens, tans, burnt oranges and soft greys all work together beautifully to create a color palette that is warm yet soothing.
Make sure to see how I used these same warm colors to decorate my bedroom for fall this season!

Using Everyday Items as Decor
One of my favorite ways to decorate in my kitchen, regardless of the season, is using everyday items. I choose neutral everyday kitchen items because they will work with every season!
On my countertops you’ll always find a mug rack with my everyday coffee mugs, a variety of cutting boards, a fruit bowl, and mortar and pestles.
These pieces are for everyday use, but double as display!
By choosing neutral pieces for daily display, I can swap in and out colors for the seasons without feeling like they are out of place. Many of these items are vintage, but you can shop my favorites via the links below!
- Metal mug rack
- Marble & wood cutting board
- Favorite large round wood paddle board
- Large acacia rectangle wood cutting board
- Mortar and pestle sets
- Glazed stoneware fruit bowl
- Black marble cutting board
- Bread box
