Peel and Stick Wallpaper | Girls Bedroom

Love it? Share it!

Do you love the look of wallpaper but dread installing it? That’s exactly how I felt about wallpaper after years of removing traditional wallpaper centimeter by pain staking centimeter. Growing up we lived in many old houses with decades old wallpaper to remove in every room. So when I saw that wallpaper was coming back to the design scene I cringed. That was, until I discovered peel and stick wallpaper.

This removable wallpaper packs a punch for interior design without the hassle of traditional installation and removal. I’m excited to share it with you as part 1 of my daughter’s bedroom makeover!

Girls Bedroom Makeover

I used peel and stick wallpaper in my daughter’s room before in our old home. She absolutely loved her little owls from WallPops so I had to recreate this space in our new home, but with a little twist.

Let’s take a look at the before. Everyone loves a good before and after.

When we first moved in I had a half a roll of the WallPops NuWallpaper leftover from my daughter’s previous bedroom. So immediately I put it on one wall just so she could have her little owls back and feel more at home in her new space. And this is how it stayed for 7 months!

I plopped a too-small rug under her bed so she wouldn’t scratch the floors and arranged these DIY hoop wreaths {tutorial HERE} as a focal point. And that was that.

The Plan

It was certainly time to finish her room and I couldn’t resist extending the peel and stick wallpaper around the room. Since the room already had an existing chair rail I decided to do the room half and half. On the top I installed Gray Woods and on the bottom I installed Shiplap.

I’ve come back to WallPops time and time again because I love their product. I also used Folk Tulip in our bathroom remodel {HERE}. If you’re interested in a video tutorial, you can watch my original installation {HERE}.

My daughter even helped me install the Shiplap NuWallpaper this time around and it was so much fun to see her invested in updating her space. I was hoping the Shiplap and the Gray Woods wouldn’t clash with varying shades of white and I’m pleased that they look amazing together. I also updated the chair rail with leftover white paint from my kitchen remodel.

Next up, I have major plans to update her bed and other furniture to give more structure and finishing touches to this space. You may spy the new rug she picked out already, but you can see the full reveal in part 2 of this series, coming soon!

What do you think? Would you try wallpaper again if you had the ease of peel and stick wallpaper with the option to remove it by peeling off full sheets at once?! I’m already dreaming of where I can add some next time. 😉

  1. This room is so calming; what a wonderful space for your daughter to come home to after school. I absolutely love temporary wallpaper and am ordering the owls for my laundry closet. Thank you!
