Porch Fall Decor
One of the things I do miss from my old home is a large front porch. I went from a full length porch to a tiny stoop when we moved to this home; however, I’m not letting it get my fall decor down! It was actually almost freeing to only have this space to work with as it forced me to simplify. You can see my elaborate fall decor from last year’s front porch {here}.
Thankfully, at this home the front doors make a statement all on their own! I simply adorned them with colorful wreaths and then let the doors do the rest of the talking. Since it is still early in the season, I also used mums for my color rather than pumpkins. My late fall decor will showcase more pumpkins as the farmers start to put them out. The funky ones are my favorite. However, for now I’m going to let the fall mums steal the show by mixing colors, sizes and height variation.
I also still had plenty of life left in my summer garden to add greens to this space. My hostas and ferns will last through early fall before the cold weather of Michigan forces me to cut them back. For now, they add a lovely depth and fullness to my front porch fall decor.
Entryway Fall Decor
Welcome to my home! If you read my post on how to create a welcoming entry {here}, then you know how important it is to me to make sure anyone who enters my home feels invited and comfortable. The fall decor in my entryway was simplified for that very reason. I didn’t want the space to feel overwhelming when guests enter since this will now be the season where I’ll need to have space for practical things like coats and boots.
Since I love my gallery wall of collected treasures I simply updated a few small details to freshen the space with my fall decor. A fall sign, a few pumpkins and some fall florals are all this space needed to get a fall update. Plus, this simple pumpkin pillow is cute and still serves a practical purpose.
As always, I like to keep my decor budget tight so I created my own graphic to switch out my framed print. I’ve always loved the Oscar Wilde quote, “And all at once, summer collapsed into fall.” I’m offering this as a free 11×14 printable (can be printed smaller) to my subscribers as well!

I enjoyed keeping my fall decor simple this year in the entryway so I could spread my wings in other neglected areas of my house. Here is a little sneak peek at my living room, which I’ll be sharing next week in more detail.
Thank you for taking the time to tour my porch and entryway fall decor this year! If you’re following the blog hop, make sure to head next to Bethany at Crisp Collective who is sharing her lovely living room!
