50+ Faux Plants for Front Porch By Category
Over the years I’ve slowly let go of the “do it all” mentality.
Because, turns out, I really can’t do it all.

So rather than throw in the towel on potted outdoor plants for my front porch altogether, I decided to mix faux plants in with real plants. This cuts down on my watering and maintenance time.
Plus, it lets me use the same faux plants year after year, which saves on the budget long term.
When we had our lake cottage, I used faux plants for my window boxes as well! Since we weren’t there regularly, I needed something that would look beautiful without my attention.

Plus, faux topiaries are the absolute easiest way to flank a front door! I use evergreens to maintain green year round. Boxwood in the spring and summer and cedar in the fall and winter.

Here are the best faux plants for a front porch, broken down by category, and then by season.

Faux Porch Plants by Season
I always find it so fun to pull together a mood board for front porch decor for each season.
While I still try to mix in some real plants when the season allows, faux plants are a standard year round. Below are my favorites, which you can also shop in one easy access list on my Storefront.
Winter Porch
For winter, the best faux outdoor plants are ones that will span the Christmas and winter season. I like to go with evergreens that warm up the porch alongside simple solar lanterns.

- Pine cone evergreen wreath
- Evergreen wreath
- Potted Boxwood Topiary Set
- Lantern Set
- Decorative Cedar Sphere
- Norfolk Pine Garland
- Cedar Tree Set of 2
Spring Porch
A spring front porch should be simple, in my opinion. A flush of color with simple topiaries flanking the front door is just enough to usher in the season. You don’t want to be unrealistic by going full bore on plants that wouldn’t naturally be ready to endure the changing season. Pair with one of the wreaths from above.

Summer Porch
For summer, I let vibrant green shine as the focal point. This is easy to do with boxwood topiaries and faux ferns. Add in a few pops of color with blues or pinks.
Summer is when I really mix in real plants alongside my faux porch plants. Annuals, ferns and even perennials that I can transplant in the fall are great compliments to fake greenery you don’t have to worry about.

- Solar string lights
- Boxwood Topiary Set
- Boxwood Sphere
- Eucalyptus Wreath
- Fern Wreath
- Hanging Fern Set
- Hydrangea Urn Filler
Fall Porch
Fall is known for mums, pumpkins and evergreens. However, a couple of years ago I stopped buying real mums that couldn’t withstand a bought of heat or missed watering sessions. Instead, I purchased these extremely realistic faux mums.
They come in 7 colors, mine are in the color merlot. I’ve left them out for an entire year, fully exposed to rain, sun and snow, and they still look as perfect as the day they arrived.

They’ve transformed how my front porch looks for fall from sad and droopy to vibrant and healthy. I mix them in with faux cedar topiaries for a fall front porch I don’t have to maintain at all as the weather turns colder.

- Mum pot filler
- Japanese Maple
- Cedar evergreen sphere
- Fall eucalyptus wreath
- Autumn leaf wreath
