A moody green bedroom will forever be my favorite. The cool thing about this makeover is that it was really just paint and styling. Phase 2 I’ll likely add some more details with wall moulding and a new light fixture. But for now, one more room is checked off the list.

I’ve always leaned my floor mirror against the wall for fear of its 50 pound weight not being secure while hung. In our new bedroom, floor space is limited, and I wanted to get it up on the wall. Insert this handy picture leveling tool, and monkey hooks! The best part about monkey hooks is that you actually cannot use them with a stud. My studs would not have allowed me to place my mirror centered on the wall, so these are the perfect solution! 50 pound mirror hung by two 35 pound capacity, monkey hooks, and we are good to go! And the leveling tool makes it so I don’t have a million holes in the wall trying to get two perfectly spaced and level hooks at the same time. 👏🏻 I’m putting the finishing touches on my bedroom makeover today and this weekend! Stay tuned!

Have you ever had just enough paint left to do touch ups in the future but not to actually paint anything? Don’t store a full gallon with a half inch of paint in it. 1. It will dry out and be unusable. 2. It takes up a ton of space.
Instead, pour the remaining paint into a wide mouth mason jar. Then, tape the paint chip to the top with any pertinent details. I always write the paint sheen and if it was color matched to a specific paint. Those things matter! That way, if you need to buy a new gallon in the future you have all the details you need.
I love that you can see the color and exactly how much you have straight on the shelf too.
Use wide mouth jars so a paint brush can be dipped in for touch ups. And wipe the mouth before resealing so you don’t paint your jar shut. Easy peasy. Be a friendly neighbor and share with your friends. 😉 #fromhousetohaven
