Traditional Christmas Decorations Reinvented

We all have them. Christmas wreaths, faux Christmas trees, sleigh bells, and a few tired ideas. I for one, wasn’t overly excited to hang my plethora of Christmas wreaths in the traditional way I typically use them.

I wanted something new and fresh so I could continue to enjoy my traditional Christmas decorations, but in a new way.

So, as I typically do, I decided to try something a smidge out of the box. Nothing overtly crazy, mind you, but hopefully something interesting to enjoy!

When you tire of using your old Christmas decor in the traditional sense, reinvent its purpose!

Using Traditional Christmas Wreaths as Wall Art

Last year, I did something very similar with my Christmas wreaths. This year, I wanted to add a little twist and incorporate a striking contrast with velvety black ribbon.

I feel like this heightens the style of this wall art idea and makes it more interesting than my take on it last year.

To achieve this affect, I simply tied black ribbon onto the wreaths and then nailed the ribbon directly to the wall at varying lengths.

The key to keeping this look more modernized is to layer it over a modern piece, like this gold mirror. It isn’t necessary to take down my everyday entryway decor. Rather, I just add around it!

Add In Natural Elements

Once I layered my Christmas wreaths on the wall, I simply added some of my favorite faux Christmas trees around the bench my father in law built me.

And that’s it! So simple, easy to hang, and very affordable. It would also be super fun to use this method to hang beautiful ornaments as a gallery wall.
