Winter Home Tour
Hi Friends,
I thought I would pop on and take a break from my photography series to give you a quick winter home tour! I showed you my fall home tour way back when, and now here we are at the end of January already! Sometimes it is hard to fathom how quickly life goes.
First off, my go-to decor after Christmas decor comes down is light and bright and green! After a month of red (gasp!) and layers upon layers of decorations I crave simplicity. So much of my winter decor is simple and nature inspired.
I did manage to completely revamp my entryway gallery wall. I have a thing for galleries and I’ve been itching to redo this space for some time after it being the same way for almost 3 years! So here’s a little before and after. I loved adding in some different textures with metal, wood and natural elements.
AFTER
After entering our home you walk into our great room. In here I wanted the mantel to have a symmetrical appeal while simplifying. I love what the wood tones do to warm up the space.
And of course, winter = PILLOWS! You gotta have some comfort when it’s cold outside.
So looking from the living room into the kitchen and dining room, you can see that there isn’t much wall space in these two rooms. So I have to be creative in my shelf and table styling to give it some pizazz. And yes, we do have a TV. Along with about 6 other black boxes that I’d like to hide. But, this is reality folks.
But overall, greens steal the show in this space.
This is my first attempt at styling this space. I was craving simplicity!
Annndddd, then I got bored with it and added a bunch of layers along with sweet Tux the Cow! (Who happens to be available for purchase in my Etsy shop along with my little Hobbit Barn also pictured!) 🙂
I may have also scared my kiddos when I got really excited about this stick that I found in the yard. (Insert eye roll emoji.) I mean, look at how perfectly structured it is for a vase! 😉
And last but not least, the heart of the home. My kitchen never has dramatic changes because I like to keep it as simple as possible since it tends to be the dumping ground for the family. Anyone else constantly removing clutter from your countertops?!
So thanks for browsing my home! For more detailed shots make sure to check out my Instagram feed! And before you know it, I’ll be back with a spring home tour for you!
Blessings,
Sarah
