Fall Front Porch Ideas on a Budget

My favorite part about fall decorating is that so much of it can be done for FREE!

Using natural elements in your fall front porch decor isn’t just acceptable, but it’s expected!

So why not take advantage of items from nature that you can use for free. Here are some ideas for fall front porch decor on a budget.

  • Grow your own pumpkins. Pumpkins are fairly easy to grow, even for beginners. So plant the type of pumpkins you want to decorate with and harvest your own year after year.
  • Corn stalks. While you can buy corn stalks in stores, many farmers offer them at road side stands affordably, or for free.
  • Dried flowers. Hydrangeas are my favorite type of flower to harvest from the garden and dry for autumn decorating.
  • Dried branches. No flowers, no problem. Grab a branch from a tree and dry it upside down with the leaves on. They will dry into an easy to hang swag.
  • Painted front door. While it’s not totally practical to paint your front door a different color for every season, it is an impactful and affordable way to spruce up your main entrance for the season.
  • Make your own grapevine wreath. Grapevine wreaths are fairly affordable to buy as a base, but if you have grapevines they are even easier to make your own! Add whatever filler you have on hand or simply tie an autumn colored bow on it.
  • Add a lantern with a candle for a cozy glow.
  • Light the way. Solar lights lining your front walkway are such a welcoming way to draw guests to the front door.
  • Go thrifting. Items that are easy to thrift for fall include baskets, fall pillows and blankets, old faux pumpkins that you can update and faux florals.
  • Head to the dollar store. While I’m usually not a huge fan of the less realistic look of dollar store pumpkins as they are, they are perfect to DIY! Paint them or apply a faux concrete finish.

Classic fall front porch ideas are what I always crave when it comes to autumn decorating.

I don’t want anything modern and streamlined. I want layers, over abundance, color and texture.
