I’m excited to share 20 nature inspired fall decorating ideas. I’ve used these over the years in a variety of ways and in a couple of different homes! I hope these ideas can inspire you as you plan your own fall decorating.
1. Use a Mix of Real, Dried and Faux Fall Decorations
SHOP THE LOOK
My biggest tip for how to incorporate nature into your fall decor is to do so with a mixture.
Combine real pumpkins, fruit, plants, branches and florals alongside dried and faux options. This mixture allows you to use the perfect ratio for your own needs.
Some people love to use mostly real items. This is my preference! I use 90% real to 10% dried and faux fall decor. However, real items are a bit messier and tend to require more maintenance.
Alternately, others love to use mostly faux items because they are pristine year after year. Plus, once you’ve purchased it, it is yours forever! However, 100% faux items can make a home look too commercialized.
The easy fix is to use 80% faux with 20% real and dried.
Dried natural elements are a great compromise when you don’t know which way to go. Dried items are actually real, but require a lot less maintenance than fresh items.
