Oh the joys of spring! The birds are chirping, the weather is breaking, the sun is finally shining. I love this season. It’s one of relief after a long Michigan winter and excitement for the warmer days ahead. I’m always ready to decorate for spring as well, but this year I tried something a little less elaborate. Today I’m sharing how to arrange simple table decorations for spring in mere minutes!

Simple Table Decorations for Spring

For the last few weeks I’ve been watching my warmer-climate Instagram buddies decking out their homes for spring. Most of them have been quite elaborate and beautiful and I found myself considering how much effort I wanted to put into my spring decor.

The pillows in my living room can be found here.

My answer? Not much. 😉 With a full kitchen renovation in the works and my house torn up I wanted something simple, quick, and affordable. So today I’m sharing the all time easiest spring decor tricks.

This post is less “ground-breaking design ideas” and more about encouraging you to stop and reflect on what is necessary to accomplish with seasonal decor. Would I love to create elaborate table decor? Yes, it would be fun! Do I have time or energy to make it happen this year? Nope.

I’m taking my own advice from my book and considering what actually makes my home a haven. So here are my all time fastest and simplest table decorations for spring!

Tip 1: Use Unique Vessels and Add Faux Flowers

It’s no surprise that my go-to centerpiece would include faux flowers. However, today’s tip for simple table decorations is to get creative with the vessel you choose to hold them!

Basket

This simple table decoration is my favorite. If you follow me on Instagram then you may have seen this basket of florals pop up in several rooms. Simple table decorations are supposed to be versatile and moveable.

I love that I can remove this basket, place it on the floor somewhere, and have a versatile arrangement that works no matter where it’s stored. This allows us to use our family room fully when it’s game night or we have guests over for snacks and a game!

Vintage Ironstone or Crock

Another favorite vessel I love to use is antique ironstone or a vintage crock. These vessels add interest, hide faux stems, and make your simple table decorations pop.

It just goes to show that you don’t need an elaborate table setting to make a beautiful space!

Tip 2: Add Plants and Call it Good

My second tip for simple table decorations is to let nature speak for itself. I recently shared my all-time favorite indoor plants and how to care for them. Head to that post, pick a favorite plant, and plop it on a table!

I wasn’t joking when I said these wouldn’t be ground-breaking design tips. But often I find that people over-complicate decor. Live plants scream spring!

In my entryway, you can see that I’ve nestled my favorite Hoya Wax plant in between empty clay pots. When I first thought of this simple table decoration I was planning to add plants to those pots. But then I realized that the simplicity let the live plant shine as the focal point.

Sometimes, less is more! This way the pots serve as some extra color and texture but don’t detract from the rest of the space.

Tip 3: Add Water to Mimic Fresh Flowers

My final tip for creating beautiful but simple table decorations is to add water. Would you have guessed that these tulips are artificial?

Granted, these are the most realistic faux tulips I’ve ever come across. However, adding a small amount of water to a clear vase makes them seem more realistic! I’ve had numerous guests come and try to smell my tulips because they believe they are real.

Simple Tips for Simple Table Decorations

I hope that this post has given you some ideas for how you can still create absolutely stunning table decorations without spending tons of money or time on them! Sometimes, life gives you energy and motivation to layer a 12 piece centerpiece. Other times, a vase of tulips is just as good. 😉
