Minimalist Kitchen Christmas Decor

True minimalists will look at my kitchen Christmas decor and tell me I’m bananas for thinking it is minimalistic. However, I would counter by saying that I can literally count the number of Christmas decor pieces on one hand in my entire kitchen. So anything under 5 is minimalistic. 😉

Add Key Pieces

When I remodeled our kitchen (for less than $500!! The entire renovation is here.), I knew that I would utilize these DIY open shelves for all of my seasonal decor. They are a great option for showcasing decor alongside my everyday dishes. So I chose to add just a few simple touches of Christmas to them!

First, I started with this key piece: My hot cocoa and sleigh rides sign. It’s just so fun and festive and the perfect addition to a kitchen. It stands out from among the other smaller decor and anchors the top shelf alongside my mini trees and pitchers.

Sprinkle Mini Trees

And then, I added mini trees! Four to be exact. Kitchen Christmas decor, done. The simple addition of these small items helps my kitchen remain festive without being overwhelming or cluttered.

Use Warm Tones

An easy way to warm up your kitchen for the winter season is to add simple touches of warm tones. Wood bowls, cutting boards, deep hued glassware, and live plants are all easy ways to warm up an otherwise completely white kitchen.

Plus, the glow of the Christmas tree doesn’t hurt either. 🙂 I love how it reflects off of every shiny surface in our kitchen.

An additional element that would be easy to add is mini wreaths in a window. I contemplated adding some to our kitchen, but then my minimalist plans won me over and I stuck with simplicity.

  1. Where did you get your two plant holders on the kitchen wall. I love your designs.? thank you for sharing ?

    1. Thank you so much! The plant holders were actually from the Target dollar section years ago. I spray painted them black. But they do also have similar ones in their Smith and Hawken line!

  2. I am celebrating this day because there will be more daylight today than yesterday and tomorrow more than today. My favorite day of course is the Winter Solstice and we have just reached it. YIPPEE.
Now, I feel like I am doing one of those side by side, find the differences in the two pictures. When did you paint your kitchen window white? I was admiring your natural wood trim since I have quite a bit and have agonized for years about changing it and I noticed in a group of kitchen pictures that one picture was different than all the rest. Whew, did I pass the test? Vicky

    1. Hi Vicky! You have a good eye! 😉 Yes, one of the photos was taken the day before the rest of the trim was painted white! It has been a work in progress for a few weeks!

  3. Stopping over from Vermont. Your home is very pretty. Unfortunately the six or seven shopping links that I clicked on are unavailable. Would have purchased. But thanks for sharing and I will be following you on Pinterest. 🙂

    1. Thank you for stopping by Suzanne! I’m sorry about the links! Items tend to sell out quickly over the holiday season. Check back for restocks!
