Cozy Christmas Home Tour
This year I strayed from the traditional red and greens of Christmas past. My heart belongs to light and bright neutral decor, so to be honest, red in my home makes me slightly anxious. ๐ Usually I deck my halls up and down in red and then by January I can’t take it any longer. To remedy that, I decided to only insert pops of the traditional red into my home and instead focus on cozy Christmas home decor.
Is there anything better than being cozy? Especially at Christmastime! I always think of glowing fires, twinkling lights, flickering candles, and lots and lots of blankets and pillows. I plan to expound on how I intentionally insert “cozy” into my decor in my next post. For now, let’s start the tour!
Cozy Christmas Home | Living
My first goal in our living area was to decorate the mantel with an unusual focal point. Traditionally, I would hang a wreath in the center, but this year my heart was longing for something simple, stunning, and unique. I was so grateful when Elisabeth from Elisabeth Neill Art agreed to paint this gorgeous custom winter barn scene. My goal was to be able to easily transition my Christmas decor into winter decor once the holidays are over. Elisabeth’s painting is the perfect solution and I envision myself leaving her masterpiece up year round.
Her artwork set the tone for the rest of my Christmas mantel. I loved using my painting as the color palette for the rest of my decor with all of the soft creams, greens, and whites. Nothing says cozy Christmas home decor like matching chunky knit stockings, simple garland and lots of cozy layers.
My stockings are one of the only items I purchased new this year because of their soft, chunky knit wool and fluffy poms. Plus, these stockings are HUGE and were perfect for layering on my large fireplace to bring scale and balance.
A sweet addition for a fun touch are these adorable custom name wood cut outs from Carpenter Farmhouse! When I contacted Niki to see if she could do custom names she was happy to help me out. I love how whimsical the script is and that we will be able to use these for years to come no matter how my tastes change.
Our fireplace makes a big statement in our home so I wanted to allow it to take center stage in our living area. I kept the surrounding decor simple with a few neutral books, lots of candles, and more simple greenery.
Of course, I added lots of layers to ensure that the cozy Christmas home vibe was consistent. ๐
Cozy Christmas Home | Kitchen
Do you have a space in your home that doesn’t change very often? For me, that is my kitchen. I like my kitchen to stay practical and clutter free so I use lots of warm woods and simple greens to cozy it up without adding much decor.
My favorite way to change decor in the kitchen is with signs. Some may call it an addiction. They may be right. ๐
One of my favorite sign makers is Christine from Dandelion Wishes Home. She made me this custom “Old Fashioned Sleigh Rides” sign which I ADORE. It is by far my favorite Christmas sign. Nothing says cozy like a cup of hot cocoa on the farm.
Christine also gifted me with this beautiful Merry Christmas sign which fits perfectly in my coffee bar gallery wall. I love that I can simply switch out a sign and it transforms my gallery into something totally new.

Cozy Christmas Home | Dining
Ya’ll, my dining room is so simple. I have never been one to create fancy tablescapes or go all out in the dining room. See? Even my dog is unimpressed. ๐ I wanted my cozy Christmas home tour to truly extend to every area of my home so the dining room was no exception. The first step was adding a simple flocked tree in a vintage basket. The second step was to add lots and lots of candles and layers!
I love how this simple arrangement of cheap pillar candles creates a warm glow throughout the room. Plus, it allows my DIY scroll to be the center of attention. I love incorporating DIY projects into my decor that you can also benefit from as readers. So if you missed my previous posts, I do have a tutorial up on how I refinished my beautiful dining room table, as well as my DIY scroll tutorial! Make sure to check them out.
For the final touch in my dining room I took a simple garland and wrapped it around my chandelier. I have always loved the way draped greens look on a chandelier and using a garland makes it so much easier than piecing together lots of greens.
Cozy Christmas Home | Entryway
For the final stop of my cozy Christmas home tour I wanted to show you my entryway! Simple and sweet, I created a cozy vibe from the moment you walk in the front door with lots of greens, blankets, pillows, and warm wood tones. There is nothing fussy about this entryway and that is just the way I like it.
And because I mentioned that I incorporated small doses of red, I wanted to show you my hallway nook one more time! I did a whole blog post specifically about this space for you {here} when I shared my freebie Christmas printables. So if you want to see lots of red (for me), head back to my previous post. ๐
